Puff Pastry Apple Tart

Servings 8 mini tarts


  • 4 apples
  • 1 roll puff pastry
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 pinch nutmeg (optional)


  • Preheat the oven to 180 C/ 350 F or Gas Mark 4
  • Peel and core the apples and cut into slices
  • Remove the shop bought puff pastry and roll it flat. Divide into eight to make eight mini tarts
  • Cut a line (but don't cut through the pastry) around the edge of each tart about 1cm in from the edge. This will allow the crust to rise on the tart
  • Melt the butter and add the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Toss the apples in the mix
  • Arrange the apple slices on top of the pastry, being careful to stay inside the crust area that we outlined
  • Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes
