- If you are not cocooning please leave the online shopping slots for those who are vulnerable in our community.
- Visit shops and supermarkets that are practicing good social distancing and hygiene.
- Try to find shops that will let you call in advance and bring your items to your car
- Try to limit your shopping trips to once or twice a week
- Check your cupboards and fridge to see what items you have that need to be used up
- Make a menu for the following days or week making sure to use up any items in your fridge and cupboard
- Try to include recipes that don’t need a lot of ingredients in case some items aren’t in stock or recipes that are flexible on ingredients
- Always have a few recipes on hand that use dried, tinned or frozen items as you will be able to make these no matter what
- Make sure to include breakfast and lunch as well as dinner
- If your family isn’t adventurous try to stick to family favourites during this time. It isn’t the time for experimenting if everyone isn’t open to it
- Check your cupboards and fridge to see what if you have what is needed for each meal
- Create a shopping list of what you need
- Make sure to include fresh, tinned or frozen vegetables or fruits on your list
- Make sure to include a treat of two
- Eggs, flour, dairy, pasta, rice, tinned and frozen products are great to have as they are so versatile
- Don’t stock up on items, this will cause shortages in our supermarkets.
