Hi! My name is Caitriona and I like to cook, especially for my extended family and friends. My sister would say that my “love language” is food and feeding people.
I have two sons and it is a daily challenge to teach them about the importance of healthy eating. There are so many processed sugary treats available everywhere they look that are so hard to resist. I’m trying to introduce them to different types of food and I hope my love of good food will influence them in later life.
I really enjoy teaching others to cook and currently teach a cookery class on a volunteer basis. This has been incredibly rewarding so far and I have met people from all different walks of life that want to learn to cook new recipes as well as old favourites. It is a social experience where the emphasis is on enjoying each others company, cooking and eating together and helping each other out.
This blog is a compilation of recipes I use all the time at home and in the class.
I am an IT professional with over 20 years experience (15 of which has been as a technical manager). I’m currently taking a break from IT to try something new and to spend some additional time with my sons while they are still young enough to enjoy hanging out with me.
I’m a great believer in life-work balance and am in a fortunate position that I can pursue this right now. I think all too often we talk of work-life balance and I really feel this is so skewed towards work and not at all focused on the life part.
As you might be able to make out from my t-shirt in the picture, I’m a feminist and a passionate believer in equality and respect for all.
